Paterson Man Charged With Clifton Armed Robbery

CLIFTON, N.J. — Clifton police charged a Paterson man Friday with robbing a convenience store at gunpoint.

Timothy Gathers, 27, pulled a gun on an employee at a Lexington Avenue On the Go store on Jan. 21 and ran off with an undetermined amount of cash, Detective Robert Anderson said.

No one was injured and no customers were in the store, he said.

Detectives chased and caught Gathers on Friday after spotting him at the corner of Highland and Parker avenues, Anderson said.

Gathers was being held on $250,000 bail in the Passaic County Jail, charged with armed robbery, possession of a handgun, and resisting arrest.
